The museum

The museum was founded in 1981 and is situated in the Cuatro Vientos airdrome, the birthplace of Spanish military aviation. It has a collection of 800 pieces, including 120 aircraft of all time, plus 100 engines, 140 models, miniatures, uniforms and different weapons.

Ways to get there

By metro:
Metro index can be used linked with metro map
Pickpockets are prevalent in Madrid. Be extremly careful and don't leave anything valuable in your back pockets, hold your backbag in front of you!

From Airport to the Air Museum:
Get on metro line no.8 (pink) and go to "Nuevos Ministerios" station and change for line no.10 (blue) and get off at "Cuatro Vientos"
and use this exit:




From metro exit, follow the "field path":

By car:
Parking is free in front of entrence to the Museum. You can get direction in here.

When to go there

Opening hours are from 10am to 2pm all week except for Monday.
Closed on Mondays, 1 January, 17, 18 April and 10 and 25 December.

Admission is free.
