The museum
The collection of military equipement (Wehrtechnischestudiensammlung), offering an exhibition space of 7.200 m², ranges among the major technology-oriented collection in the Federal Republic of Germany. Founded in 1962, the collection has been located in Koblenz, site of the headquarters of the Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement (Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung) since 1982. The Collection of Military Equipment is a branch of the BWB. With the collection's original purpose being solely the training support of BWB, Bundeswehr and industry personnel, its task now is far more widespread comprising the collection, preservation and research of technically and historically important examples of the development of the national and international military technology (including prototypes), in addition to conveying the equipment-inherent experience. A special library of military technology and history comprising 15.000 volumes and 60.000 technical manuals, is available to the public on advance notification. You
may contact museum authorities there. Location information The museum is located
at Koblenz near a street called "Danziger Freiheit" |
