Historical information Inaugurated on 31 May 1976 by the then Prince Albert who became King Albert II of Belgium, the museum, built in shape of a star, displays an exceptionnal collection of uniforms and light weapons of the American and German troops who fought in the Battle for Bastogne, as well as very realistic dioramas. An adjoining cinema shows film reports shot during the fighting by cameramen of the opposing armies. Outside the museum stand a US M10 Tank Destroyer and a Sherman tank commemorating the violent tank battles that took place during the fight for the capture of Bastogne. Photos of such tanks stand on my Mardasson Memorial webpage. One of the world's finest war museum offers you quality presentations. 1. COLLECTIONS: the authentic uniforms, weapons and material of the belligerent. 2. CINEMA: For the first time in the world, a museum dedicated to a great battle has been realized with the help and advice of the opposing generals! 3. PARTICULARITIES: historical landscape, American memorial, beautiful view over Bastogne and the battlefield, ultra-modern star shaped building, easy access, free parking, souvenirs, collector's items, WWII and military books. The official website of the museum stands here. Location information The Bastogne Historical Center is located in Bastogne (Belgium). More information on the city of Bastogne can be found here.
